BURNCO's BC Ready Mix Division is recruiting for a hardworking and conscientious Crane Truck Operator to be based out of our Vernon Ready Mix depot, supporting our Form Yard department. This is a seasonal, full-time position.
IMPORTANT:As this is a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidate selected for hire must successfully pass pre-employment background checks that may include criminal record search, drug and alcohol screening (including cannabis), as well as a comprehensive Fitness For Work assessment (Audi amp; Spiro).
Location: Vernon, British Columbia
What You Will Be Doing
- Delivering and picking up concrete form packages, as directed, in BC's Okanagan Valley region
- Delivering concrete blocks to customer sites as needed
- Assisting Yard Crew in putting together form packages
- Using the Forklift to load and properly secure form packages on to the Crane Truck
- Assisting in cleaning and organizing of forms as required
- Other duties in the Form Yard as assigned by the Foreman
Reality of the Job
- You will work long hours during peak times and demand
- You'll be working Monday through Friday (Saturdays from time-to-time as required)
Requirements
What We Would Like From You
Education, Qualifications, Experience amp; Certifications
- Possession of a valid Crane/Hiab Certification as per the requirements of the BC Crane Operator - Full Scope or Level A Folding Boom designation; either 10 tonne and under, or 22 tonne and under, both are acceptable (see: BC Crane Safety Designations)
- Minimum of a Class 3 Drivers License with air brake endorsement is required; Class 1 License would be considered an asset
- Able to present a clean driving abstract
- Forklift certificate is an asset
- Mechanical aptitude
- Energetic and highly motivated
- Must possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience or knowledge of concrete and the construction materials industry
