Reporting to the Category Manager, the Sourcing Specialist is responsible for delivering all sourcing activities according to key performance indicators and assigned category across multiple Canadian regions.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Delivering and executing sourcing strategy within the Seafood category;

Acting as subject matter expert for your category and developing relevant market knowledge: seasonality, materials availability, supply and vendor options as well as pricing;

Delivering outsourcing and new items sourcing for planned and ad-hoc business needs;

Owning your category total cost forecast and identifying cost reduction opportunities through projects or pricing negotiation;

Managing supplier performance and serving as an escalation point for supply chain disruptions including cost avoidance initiatives;

Delivering new item or vendor requirements for approval process including needs arising from new product development by communicating supplier solutions to internal teams;

Implementing sourcing and vendor relationship management best practices and managing contract lifecycles accordingly;

Building a sourcing database and maintaining all applicable ERP data (pricing, items and vendor masters);

Preparing and issuing RFx documentation and evaluating factors to ensure quality, price and delivery time indicators are achieved.

Things we want you to have:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in sourcing, procurement or a category management role, preferably within the grocery, food or manufacturing sectors; Seafood Experience is a strong asset

Project management experience with a focus on cost reduction initiatives;

Strong negotiation, time management and planning skills;

Ability to analyze complex and ambiguous data leveraging G-suite and develop a range of solutions according to business needs;

Expertise in procurement processes, ERPs and materials requirement planning (MRP);

Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or other relevant major (an asset);

A Self-starter with an ability to navigate across multiple levels of the organization and a passion to work in a fast paced environment

Bilingualism English and French (an asset).
