EMPOWER Health offers a digital health platform that EMPOWERs patients and healthcare providers. Patients deserve equitable healthcare access, healthcare professionals deserve tools that will help them deliver care more efficiently, and all Canadians deserve a better healthcare system.
Our website and mobile apps help you when you need it most; whether it’s finding a pharmacy that’s open late, booking an appointment online for your family doctor, or seeing wait-times before you step into the walk-in clinic. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our system has been used to support national tracking amp; reporting of COVID-19 cases in all retirement amp; long term care homes across Canada; we launched the myCOVIDvaccine.ca national vaccine locator with online appointment booking at pharmacies amp; clinics across Canada; and our system has helped patients navigate healthcare services available during and between lockdowns.
We are gaining traction across Canada and are looking to hire a software developer to join our team. As a member of our team, you'll be able to own large features, tackle complex problems, and have the opportunity to help Canadians get vaccinated.
- Full stack experience developing and shipping production-grade applications at scale.
- 3+ years developing applications on Ruby on Rails
- Proven track record designing and implementing well designed RESTful APIs.
- Experience with SQL preferably PostgreSQL
- Ability to analyze problems and provide technical solutions.
- A willingness to be agile and nimble in a startup environment.
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Nice to have
- Worked in a Secure production environment needing to meet PIPEDA
- Proficient in HTML/CSS
- Experience with AWS, terraform, Docker and CI/CD pipelines

- Downtown Toronto (and Canadian remote possible)

Requirements
