Job Description

Basic Function:

Under the supervision and direction of the Supervisor, Programs and Volunteer Services, and as a member of the multidisciplinary team, will provide a variety of customer service, screening and sanitizing duties, ensuring compliance with current Corporate and Norview policies and procedures, as well as legislated guidelines.

All staff must work collectively and respectfully to achieve quality care for the Residents and participate in a Team Concept to care.

Note: In this role you must be willing to work shift work as this role supports a 24 hour / 7 day a week facility. The schedule may include days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.Currently those shifts may be scheduled between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m and may be subject to change.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Screen all staff, visitors, caregivers, volunteers and contractors for risks, symptoms and signs of COVID-19; and verify screening is completed correctly
  • Conduct COVID-19 Antigen (Rapid) test of visitors, caregivers, volunteers and contractors as required
  • Direct individuals as appropriate according to the outcome of the screening process
  • Distribute personal protective equipment as required and assist with donning and doffing
  • Perform cleaning and sanitizing duties of the screening and associated areas
  • Disinfect and deliver items dropped off at the main entrance following the appropriate disinfection
  • Maintain adequate supply of personal protective equipment required for visitors, caregivers, volunteers and contractors
  • Assist with preparation for COVID-19 surveillance testing as required
  • Undertake all duties and responsibilities in compliance with Health and safety standards, guidelines and legislation, including compliance with Public Health standards and Ministry of Long-Term Care regulations
  • Participate in in-service educational opportunities as applicable
  • Maintain awareness of emergency procedures at all times; participate in drills and associated educational opportunities
  • Be aware of and comply with all Corporate and facility policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to infection control policies, procedures, protocols, routine and additional practices as required
  • Confidentiality is of extreme importance and must always be maintained
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Benefits

    Status: Temporary Part-Time (date of hire up to approximately one year)
