The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Director, Corporate Treasury to join our Finance amp; Treasury team.

Reporting to the VP, Finance amp; Treasury, the Director, Corporate Treasury is responsible for leading and supporting the day-to-day corporate treasury operations at Aviso, managing a fixed income portfolio to generate investment returns, developing and managing quantitative modeling to measure interest rate risk, liquidity risk and portfolio valuation to ensure that risk measures are in compliance with treasury policies, and working with other members of the Finance team to provide treasury budgeting and forecasting and strategic decision support as a value-added finance resource to Aviso as a whole.

What your day looks like:

  • Oversee the day-to-day treasury operations including daily cash management, collateral management, and portfolio valuation. Manage relationships with the Operations department to understand Aviso’s institutional and retail clients’ daily trading activities and their impact on cash and collateral requirement
  • Manage banking relationships to ensure seamless daily corporate banking activities, support interest rates negotiation to address business requirements and macroeconomic changes and identify instruments for funding and interest rate risk management
  • Partnering with Aviso’s Capital Markets and ESG Services, play a key role in managing a $500+ million fixed income portfolio under Aviso’s treasury mandates
  • Develop and manage Aviso’s interest rate hedge program with interest rate swaps, develop key measurement and analytics to evaluate hedge effectiveness. Manage counterparty relationships and ISDA requirements
  • Manage corporate capital allocation amongst Aviso’s entities to ensure efficient use of capital within the IIROC and MFDA regulatory capital framework
  • Working with internal and external experts, counterparties and banking providers, seek optimal funding solutions in the form of security lending, repurchase transactions, line of credit, call loans, etc. Using Bloomberg and/or other tools to provide pricing and daily valuation of the underlying instruments
  • Working with the VP Finance amp; Treasury, develop and manage a commercial lending portfolio to support Aviso and its business partners’ acquisition initiatives
  • Develop and manage analysis to measure stickiness of retail and institutional clients’ deposits and assess its implication on Aviso’s funding and capital structure. Prepare ongoing assessment of asset and liability mismatches and provide reports to the CFO and VP Finance amp; Treasury
