Wealthsimple Magazine, An Online Money Magazine for People Who Care About More than Money, is the editorial arm Wealthsimple, run by the former longtime Editorial Director of GQ Magazine. It features conversations with geniuses and weirdos, help with investing and taxes, and stories that help you understand the big strange world we live in all told through the lens of money. We’re looking for a Magazine Editor to join Wealthsimple’s content team, reporting to the Editorial Director. This Editor will first and foremost own the Magazine’s financial service content, producing the most creative, clearest, most useful, least boring service journalism, money explainers and financial advice on the internet. The Editor will also contribute other types of pieces to the Magazine.In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Act as lead editor for Wealthsimple Magazine’s financial service content
• Own your stories from concept to publication, assigning, editing, and ensuring relevant stakeholders are consulted as needed
• Source interesting new writers and work with established Wealthsimple Magazine voices
• Coordinate with teams across the company, including product teams, Investment Research, Portfolio Management, and Marketing, to make sure the content we’re creating meets the needs of our business
• Contribute across all verticals and channels essays, investigative journalism, podcast episodes, social content, etc.

We're looking for someone who:

• Brings 5-10 years of experience in an editorial role at a media outlet
• Can hustle. You're a self-motivated person who proactively pitches and assigns stories
• Is creative. This isn’t a paint-by-numbers job. We don’t just want to do what we’ve already done; you'll help push us into new territory
• Has excellent editing skills. You can take a story from idea to publication, with an eye for relevance, narrative and voice
• Is obsessive about publishing the most interesting, useful, entertaining and absolutely accurate money content on the planet
• Isn’t necessarily an expert in financial topics, but is down to become an expert
