As ATB’s next Leadership Consultant (HR Consultant) on our People amp; Culture team, you will provide consultation, advice and education to leaders within ATB Business to elevate leadership capability and advance business objectives. This includes:

  • Identifying and Meeting Client Needs - Actively listening and asking follow-up questions to determine client needs. Meeting those needs through coaching, consulting or facilitation, and providing insights, education and information. Escalating matters that require consultation to the right expert.
  • Relationship Management - Act as primary advisor to leaders within designated client areas, developing a deep knowledge of the leaders, their people amp; their business. Build an effective partnership with these leaders and work collaboratively to determine the best approach to their people challenges.
  • Supporting local, thinking enterprise - Providing direct support to Leaders of Leaders within a business team, thinking critically to position enterprise frameworks, and structuring to promote consistency of practice. Consider the broader enterprise implication of local decisions when formulating recommended actions.
  • Advocating for People amp; Culture (Pamp;C) - Actively participating in sprints, partnering with the Centres of Excellence to develop change plans, encouraging leaders to tap into their peer networks for advice, and promoting self-serve channels.
  • Identifying business requirements - Actively providing feedback to the Centres of Excellence to ensure business problems are translated.

Leadership Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong partnership with the leaders you support, providing proactive education and resources to leaders in service to the overall team member experience.
  • Provide data and insights, as needed, to highlight trends and demonstrate the impact of people practices and programs on achieving business goals.
  • Provide support and coaching on people matters in the business to enable leaders to solve problems and grow leadership capability.
  • Liaise with the appropriate resources within Pamp;C, as needed (e.g., Employee amp; Labour Relations, Leadership Development, Compensations Specialists, and other internal Pamp;C disciplines) to access frameworks, tools, resources, expertise and information required to meet the needs of the client.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership Consultants and Pamp;C Strategic Partners to execute localized strategic talent plans.
  • Support Pamp;C Everyday Advisors, as necessary, to provide responsive support to leaders.
  • Provide feedback and input to Pamp;C teams, to ensure continuous improvement and adjustments of programs to positively impact the team member experience at ATB.

  • A critical thinker who can effectively identify client needs, navigate complex people matters and formulate recommendations for leader consideration amp; action.
  • Able to cultivate strong, trust-based relationships that help move the business forward in tricky situations.
  • Able to connect Pamp;C activities to business strategy and goals that translate into value for the business.
  • A strong facilitator with experience leading, for example, team effectiveness, group process or learning offerings in virtual and in-person environments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Human Resources focus, or related discipline, or equivalent education/experience; MBA is considered an asset
  • Human Resources designation obtained or in flight (e.g. from CPHRAB, SHRM, HRPA, etc.) considered an asset
  • Foundational level of skills and experience with organizational design
  • Project Management and/or Change Management experience considered an asset
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, of which at least three years should be in a larger organizational environment
  • Management consulting experience in a Human Resources related field considered an asset
