Job Description

Key responsibilities:

The Vice President Leadership Giving amp; Corporate Partnerships reports to the EVP, Revenue Development, and works collaboratively with the Vice President Leadership Giving amp; Stewardship and the nationwide Leadership Giving team to develop effective fundraising and partnership strategies resulting in new funds from individual donors, foundations and corporate partners. The Vice President Leadership Giving amp; Corporate Partnerships has direct oversight of leadership giving in Ontario and Quebec, and corporate partnerships nationwide. The VP carries a personal portfolio of individual and corporate high-value prospects in the Greater Toronto Area. They will represent CCS to the donor community and execute a multi- faceted national strategy to maximize fundraising potential while advocating for CCS’s mission, vision, and brand through external partnerships.

Responsibilities

1. Leadership - 10%

  • Actively participates and contributes to the overall fundraising success of CCS as a member of the Revenue Development leadership executive.
  • As the lead on corporate programs nationwide, works with the Director, Corporate Partnerships, Director New Business and Director, Quebec to develop a multi-faceted nationwide corporate strategy and oversee its implementation.
  • In partnership with the Vice President Leadership Giving amp; Stewardship, collaborates on the development and leadership of a nationwide major gifts strategy and oversees its implementation.
  • Leads the development and management of the annual budget for leadership giving, in partnership with the VP Leadership Giving amp; Stewardship.
  • Oversees a current team of 20, with 6 direct reports. Manages, motivates and continues to upgrade a talented leadership giving team. Sets rigorous objectives that support higher performance.
  • Responsible for a personal portfolio of individual and corporate high value prospects within the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Supports the CEO to build relationships with high value prospects.
  • Works with National and Provincial board members and senior volunteers as required in the solicitation of major and corporate gifts.
  • Works with Revenue Development Leadership Executive to forecast multi-year revenue targets and report and monitor identified KPI’s to ELT.

2. Major Gifts - 40%

  • Personally manages a high value portfolio of major gift prospects in the GTA and directly conducts cultivation visits, solicitation calls and stewardship activities that sets the example for the team.
  • Is accountable for a major gift target of $5M+ in Ontario and Quebec for 2021/22 and contributes to the overall success of the major gift portfolio nationwide.
  • Leads the development and supports the implementation of a nationwide leadership giving strategy, focused on growth of major gifts from individuals, families and foundations through multiyear pledges.
  • Sets and monitors performance metrics for leadership giving team in Ontario and Quebec.
  • Ensures a growing pipeline of leadership giving prospects, based on research and data analysis.
  • Uses Salesforce for effective relationship moves management and team productivity.
  • Helps develop and implement a successful marketing and communications strategy tailored to major donors and prospects.
  • Liaises with EVP Revenue Development to confirm key fundraising priorities and establishes the fundraising case for support to be used by team members.
  • Works in collaboration with Director Volunteer Experience, to cultivate and recruit Volunteer fundraising resources and ensure that they have access to proper onboarding and support to be successful.
  • Co-recruits, trains and develops major gift team.
  • Uses performance evaluations and feedback to facilitate continuous improvement of the skills of the major gift team and ensure that support resources are in place to optimize all aspects of staff performance.
  • Works with major gift team members to review and prioritize prospect lists for identified markets.
  • Works closely with the various departments (Finance, HR, IT, Corporate Development, Regional Directors, Regional Executive Directors) in order to foster cooperation and maximize revenue.
  • Attends various external and internal events in the GTA to raise CCS profile and build opportunities.

3. Corporate Programs - 40%
