Job Description

Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (LCI) - Vice Principal

FTE: 1.00 - Temporary

The expected start is August 24th, 2021, or will be based upon mutual agreement between the Division and the candidate, and will complete on June 29th, 2022, or upon return of incumbent.

This posting will remain open until 12:00 PM, Monday, May 3rd, 2021.

Lethbridge School Division is seeking a highly motivated educator who displays strong leadership skills, is innovative and demonstrates collaborative decision making to serve as Vice-Principal of Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (LCI).

Lethbridge Collegiate Institute serves approximately 963 students. LCI exists to provide our students and community with education opportunities, experiences, and challenges through the provision of high quality Academic, Co-Curricular, and Social Programs; in a supportive, caring environment. The successful candidate will be expected to have:

  • Previous teaching experience at a high school level.
  • An understanding of high school pathways to graduation.
  • A background in Inclusive Education
  • The ability to be part of a collaborative Administration Team.

Requirements

Applicants must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate, a Leadership Quality Standard Certificate and they will possess or be in the process of obtaining a Masters Degree in Education. Successful teaching experience is necessary.

Conditions of Employment:

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide:

  • A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
  • A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
  • Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
  • Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
