Currently, we are seeking a full-time Senior Financial amp; Systems Analyst. This position is a key member of the finance team responsible for the analysis and modeling of internal and external operational and business opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To demonstrate commitment to safety through a personal focus on safety and the integration of safety in every task.
  • Consolidate entity level short and long term budgets/forecasts for internal management reporting and board consumption including maintenance of the global cash forecast.
  • Build, own and maintain all financial models relating to potential acquisitions and the impact of those potential acquisitions on the consolidated financial results of High Arctic. Keen focus on BI and report building targeted at top level decision making.
  • In-depth analysis of cost drivers, identifying outliers as well as metrics including the return needed to support ongoing level 4 rig recertification or equipment upgrades.
  • Prepare valuation analysis using range of valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow analysis, comparable market multiples and precedent transaction analysis.
  • Support the Corporate Financial Reporting Manager with the consolidation of High Arctic group of companies. Assist with the review consolidating entries, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare the necessary back-up supporting the compilation of Financial Statement notes including account reconciliations and preparation of impairment analysis.
  • Enhance the finance and accounting implementation within the Document Management System (DMS).
  • Project management for Finance initiatives
  • Support accounts receivable credit reviews.
  • Various ad-hoc requests from CFO and Group Operational Controller where capacity restraints require assistance.
  • The provision of self leadership, which is the commitment by an individual to always comply with High Arctic policy and procedure in the performance of all tasks in the workplace.
  • Review/improve current reporting process and assist others in the group to improve how we do things.
  • Keep the leadership team focused on performance management activities through effective communication of key business indicators.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes to enhance the financial and business reporting. Ensure adequate internal controls, integrity and accuracy of data and quality of reporting. Drive the improvement of the forecasting process.
  • Support the COSO framework, including documentation and testing of controls. Continuously assess the ability to improve processes.

Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Professional accounting designation, CPA preferred.
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant area of study such as Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite especially Excel.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of settings.
  • In-depth experience with modeling and forecasting.
  • Prior merger and acquisition experience.
  • Extensive experience in project management.
  • Minimum 10 years post-designation experience.
  • Supporting management and the business units; strong cross-functional relationship development.
  • Must be able to deal with unknown situations, ask questions, make decisions and move forward.
  • Self motivated, ability to manage and triage large volumes of workload.
  • Ability and willingness to perform detailed tasks. Excellent analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines.
  • Knowledge of CSOX and testing internal controls.
  • Being a strong team player, with the ability to adapt to changing requirements or deadlines in support of High Arctic's goals, is critical.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with proprietary information within the scope of the role.
