As ATB’s next Associate Director, TRG you will Report to one of the Directors in the Turnaround and Restructuring Group , this role will assist with managing a portfolio of distressed corporate accounts and advising sales teams on challenging accounts. The position will focus on assisting the Director with developing strategies to manage a portfolio of high risk accounts; working with the Director to mitigate risk while working with borrowers to turnaround businesses or maximizing recoveries while navigating to an exit; and supporting the Director in completing financial analysis and credit underwriting.
Requirements
Associate Director, TRG Accountabilities:
- Assist the Director in developing strategies for risk mitigation while working with clients to turnaround businesses
- Work and communicate effectively with restructuring professionals, insolvency counsels, valuators, and financial advisors
- Perform detailed financial analysis with the ability to step back and see the big picture
- Work collaboratively with the team and other Associate Directors to enhance processes and efficiency
- Ensure credit decisions / recommendations are in accordance with sound credit granting principles and are in accordance with ATB lending policy and procedures
- Coordinate portfolio management with the Director, ensuring customer service expectations and credit quality is maintained
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ONE ATB TEAM
- At least 3 years of accounting or banking experience, and experience in working with challenged accounts in restructuring and insolvency would be considered an asset
- A Client Obsessed focus and a desire to be a Champion of Belonging
- A post-secondary degree in business, with a focus on marketing, finance, accounting or equivalent experience. Related Graduate level degree (MBA) or CA, CFA or CIRP designation would be an asset
- Able to quickly gain working knowledge of a business and its industry
- Demonstrated credibility through professional track record, integrity and business knowledge
- Strong financial acumen; credit writing experience would be considered an asset
- Work well under pressure and is an independent self-starter that is eager to learn
