As a NPI Specialist you will be responsible for being the bridge between supply chain, manufacturing and engineering teams during the design and the Manufacturing transfer phases of mechanical and electronics solutions. You come from a Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production environment with a strong technical aptitude. If the engineers are the architects, you are the builder - pragmatic, project driven and outcome oriented. You are energized by working in cross functional settings with internal and external teams (suppliers + manufacturers). You demonstrate initiative, communicate well to various audiences, and love learning new things. You thrive in an environment where you can work with impact along with a good sense of urgency to complete the assigned tasks in a meaningful and thoughtful manner.

What you will do:

Supply chain - Strategic sourcing

  • Maintain close relationships with key suppliers to best align Semios’ needs with market leading product direction. Proactively track industry trends such as lead times, packaging, multi-sourcing footprint
  • Performs NPI amp; sustaining Design-for-Supply Chain functions such as selection of alternate source components for cost reduction, product consolidation, or improved reliability of supply
  • Source and contribute to electro-mechanical manufacturing vendor qualification and approval.
  • IoT solution ecosystem sourcing and management - select cellular, connectivity platforms for Ramp;D, volume deployments.

Setup new products for successful operations

  • Product realization from concept to completion
  • Set manufacturing, field operation up for success by representing operations in the development of new products, and continuous improvement of existing products
  • Support the creation of Assembly Instructions (Build guides).
  • Work closely with suppliers, engineers and operations to ensure DFX rules are being incorporated.
  • Be the quarterback for ECR processes through internal, external communication and coordination.

Transfer new product to manufacturing

  • Drive manufacturing readiness for product launch and successful transfer to production
  • Own the manufacturing transfer package assembly and execution
  • Help our partners be successful,
  • Work closely with our contract manufacturers to reduce assembly times, manufacturing lead-times and to make overall improvements to manufacturing processes.
  • Some domestic/international travel will be required in working with overseas and domestic contract manufacturers and design teams up to 10%

Requirements

We want you to succeed, so you will need:

  • BSEE or MSE with 5+ years relevant experience or 5+ years relevant practical ‘hands on’ experience in a technical supply chain oriented role
  • Excellent technical writing skills, cross functionally happy.
  • Background in electronics/mechatronics engineering and/or new product development support, experience as a manufacturing engineer or components engineer would also be relevant.
  • Able to understand CAD and electronics schematics, layout and 3D files; with a hand
