Tangent Animation is expanding and looking for a?Pipeline Technical Director. The main role is to develop pipeline related systems and services. The TD will work with other members of our growing Production Technology team as well as communicate?directly with crew from?other?studio?departments.
Responsibilities:
- Help design and implement systems, services and tools to improve the dataflow and workflow efficiency?in production
- Maintain, service and improve existing pipeline systems, services and tools
- Develop solutions to overcome technical challenges within the dataflow of a multi-site facility
- Apply best development practices when implementing tools and new system by writing effective unit tests and initiating code?reviews
- Report to?Pipeline and DFX Supervisors
Requirements
- 3+ year experience as a Pipeline Technical Director in the industry
- Experience?developing for a USD-based pipeline a strong?plus
- Experience with Houdini, Solaris, HOM and HDK a strong plus
- A computer science degree (or equivalent) a plus
- Maintain knowledge up to date with new advances in "industry-specific technical developments"
- Proficiency in python scripting
- Proficiency in databases (Postgres/NoSQL) a plus
- Proficiency in?PyQt?scripting a plus
- Knowledge of Rez package management system a plus
- Proficiency with multiple industry-specific software packages (Maya, Houdini, Substance Painter/Designer, Blender, Nuke, Avid,?Zbrush?etc.) a plus
- Strong understanding of?pipelines?for Feature Animation and?data flows?between studio departments
