VERB is looking for a Senior PHP Developer to join our Integrated Platform Services (IPS) team.
As a Senior PHP Developer, your primary focus will be on developing secure, scaleable code for our middleware platform that integrates backend services and provides a single, unified front-facing API. You will collaborate with a team of developers, while ensuring best-practices are demonstrated and maintained across our larger team of technology professionals.
- Collaborate with third-party web service providers to create reusable integrations
- Identify and utilize software design patterns
- Build and track reusable code and libraries
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with stakeholders, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes
- Document and demonstrate solutions through flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, code comments and clear code
- Optimize applications for scalability and performance
- Debug complex issues spanning multiple systems and vendors
- Obtain and license software by gathering required information from vendors, recommending purchases, testing and approving products
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders ensuring clear, consistent communication
- Adhere to internal workflow and development standards
- Support project team members through highly technical tasks
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development
- Experience using LAMP-stack technologies
- Experience using the Symfony PHP framework
- Experience with API development tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger/OpenAPI
- Familiar with modern PHP development practices and tools, including PHP7 and Composer
- Familiar with OWASP best practices
- Understanding of CI processes, including automated testing
- Familiar with Web infrastructure technologies such as SSL and DNS
- Proficient with version control systems, Git and Gitlab in particular
- Proficient with development debugging tools and practices
- Effective written and verbal communication
