We believe everyone who would like to have a guide dog should have that opportunity. At CNIB Guide Dogs, we raise, train, and match dogs with Canadians who are blind or partially sighted. We are looking for a Lead, Canine Campus Operations to join our Guide Dog team in delivering a thorough and best in class program. What you'll do:

  • Lead the CNIB Dog Care amp; Welfare team at the Canine Campus
  • Provide day-to-day and administrative support to the Director of Operations and Business Development, CNIB Guide Dogs
  • In collaboration with the technical training team, update and enforce dog care and welfare policies and procedures to ensure that CNIB dogs are always provided with the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare
  • Manage veterinary clinic accounts and consult veterinary advisor regarding health and hygiene for all CNIB dogs
  • Prepare and manage shift schedules for Dog Care amp; Welfare team

Requirements

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Minimum 5 years administrative and operational experience essential
  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Current Ontario driver's license
  • Good working knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Exceptional administrative and organizational skills
  • Good dog handling skills and physical stamina, especially with larger breed dogs and groups of dogs
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of dog care needs, canine health and diseases, dog behaviour, and veterinary care
  • Other college or university degree in business administration and/or an animal care related field is desirable
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset
