The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Night ShiftGeneral Labourer/Forklift Operator for our paint and structural departments to work in our SE Calgary facility (8700 Venture Ave SE; not transit accessible). The night shift is 4:30pm-3am, Monday-Thursday.
Reporting to the department supervisor, the successful candidates will:
- Assist welders and painters/blasters
- Operate small equipment
- Assist in some administrative functions
- Work in various outdoor and indoor conditions in a fast-paced environment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
In this role, the successful candidates will have:
- Minimum Grade 12/GED
- 2+ years general labourer experience is preferred
- Current Forklift Operator ticket
- CSTS-09/2020 or Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) ticket is mandatory
- Have experience safely operating power tools such as drills, saws, power threader, grinder, etc.
- Proven commitment to safety
- Previous experience completing Field Level Hazard Assessments
- Outstanding knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting/handling procedures
- Excellent communication/verbal amp; listening skills
- Ability to follow directions and have high attention to detail
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs, be physically fit, work at heights, be agile and able to go up/down ladders
Working Conditions:
- You will work in a large manufacturing facility with other trades present
- Outside/inside work
- Physically demanding position
