Job Description

Taiga is a rapidly scaling off-road electric vehicle technology and manufacturing company seeking a stress analysis engineer for snowmobile platforms engineering. The successful candidate will play an integral role in vehicle platform development by developing stress analysis models of vehicle subsystems and working with members of the design team to optimize designs.

What you will do:

  • Develop stress analysis models using ANSYS, including linear static and fatigue analysis
  • Work with the design and test amp; validation teams to develop and refine simulation load cases
  • Work with the design team to identify major load paths, stresses, and displacements in components belonging to suspension, chassis, steering, and driveline subsystems
  • Work with the test amp; validation team to validate and refine simulation models
  • Document simulation results and write reports
  • Use stress analysis models to perform root-cause analysis of mechanical component failures seen during testing

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a stress analysis engineer in one of the following industries Powersports, Automotive, Construction Vehicles, or Aerospace.
  • Experience with ANSYS developing both linear static and fatigue analysis models on individual parts and mechanical assemblies
  • Experience with stress analysis models in structural solids, composites, welded joints, bolted connections, riveted connections, and sheet metal
  • Experience with validation and closing-the-loop of simulation models
  • Self-starter, ability to take up new initiatives, detail-oriented, quick learner with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced cross functional environment
  • Quality and customer-focused


Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience developing and validating modal, acoustic, and non-linear simulation models
  • Experience with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor
  • Design-for-manufacture experience with castings, forgings, sheet metal, and weldments
