Chassis Engineer - Snowmobile Platform

Taiga is a rapidly scaling off-road electric vehicle technology and manufacturing company seeking a chassis engineer for snowmobile platforms engineering. The successful candidate will play an integral role in vehicle platform development by designing chassis structures and working with members of the design team to integrate snowmobile subsystems.

What you will do:

• Design chassis structures to maximize performance and minimize weight
• Design chassis components including castings, weldments, machined parts, and sheet metal
• Work with the production team to ensure manufacturability and ease-of-assembly of chassis systems
• Work with test amp; validation team to refine amp; improve designs based on testing feedback amp; data
• Work with CAD technicians to draft technical drawings and define part amp; assembly tolerances
• Work with structural analysts to optimize part designs and system architecture

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years experience as a chassis or structures design engineer in one of the following industries - Powersports, Automotive, Aerospace
• Experience designing castings, weldments, and sheet metal
• Thorough understanding of structural mechanics, including load path analysis, bolted connections, riveted connections, mechanical fatigue
• Experience with tolerance specification including GDamp;T
• Experience with CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor
• Self-starter, ability to take up new initiatives, detail-oriented, quick learner with strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced cross functional environment
• Quality and customer-focused

Good-To-Have Skills

• Experience with finite element analysis tools
• Experience with production engineering, including fixturing and automation
• Experience with composites design amp; analysis
