Job Description


Tricycle Lane Ranches Ltd (TLR), a sister company of BURNCO Rock Products Ltd is looking for a part-time Operations Control Centre Operator for our Corporate Office located in Calgary, Alberta. The perfect candidate must be ambitious, detail oriented, and demonstrate good communication skills both written and oral. This person will find that problem solving comes naturally, but always maintains the highest quality standards. Working as an integral part of the TLR team, this individual must have a positive attitude and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities/Role includes:

  • Provide support as required to Operations Control Centre (OCC) staff, covering sick days and holidays. Shift times may vary and can include nights, weekends and up to 12-hour shifts;
  • Monitor the CCTV feed in the OCC;
  • Report security system alarms, facilities and security equipment deficiencies, and other occurrences for appropriate follow-up using our ticketing system;
  • Dispatch security officers and/or law enforcement to alarm activations, security/emergency incidents, and other critical events occurring within the facility to determine the cause and to render immediate on-scene security and assistance, as required;
  • Ensure security guards that are located at sites check in every two hours;
  • Conduct building tours during shifts, checking for leaks and security breaches;
  • Monitor media events for potential impact on company assets;
  • Monitor government environmental websites for potential impact on company assets;
  • Access Control card management: print and deliver access cards to end users;
  • Updating and creating spreadsheets to track data;
  • Submit purchase order requests and track corresponding invoicing/payments;
  • Maintain and restock office supplies as needed;
  • Other duties as defined.

Requirements

Requirements include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities including exceptional telephone etiquette;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products;
  • Intermediate computer Skills;
  • Ability to interact effectively at various professional levels and across diverse cultures;
  • Multitasking skills;
  • A demonstrable history of reliable work attendance and performance;
  • Flexibility in shift scheduling.

IMPORTANT: Successful applicant will be required to complete a full background check which may include a Criminal background check, as well as a Drug amp; Alcohol screen. (NB: Drug amp; Alcohol testing is based on zero tolerance for any Cannabis derived products regardless of use frequency or purpose including therapeutic).

NOTE: Working remotely is not applicable to this role. When providing support to the Operations Control Center, you will be working independently in the Control Room to avoid close contact with others that may be in the workplace.
