The Product Robust Engineer is responsible for performing a wide variety of product verifications on a broad spectrum of materials and devices.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibiting competence in any of the following aspects:
- Mechanical/electrical/thermal performances
- Environmental and Weathering performances
- Process verifications
- Aerosol characterizations
- Independently and accurately experimental performing and data collecting, stratify results and issue reports for approval.
- Manage the laboratory assets, ensuring all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and serviced.
- Develop, author, and ensure conformance to laboratory standard operating procedures.
- Support product quality control in the root cause analysis of test failures and failure analysis work-streams.
- Support management in the procurement, purchase, and installation of new equipment.
- Update the SOPs of reliability tests and other laboratory management-related documents.
- Improve efficiency, minimize equipment downtime, and reduce costs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A degree in Bachelor of Science.
- Specialization in Electronic Application and Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering would be an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with electronic device testing in a laboratory setting.
- Extensive operational experience with reliability testing equipment and understanding of their functions and mechanisms.
- Fundamental knowledge of materials-centric test standards (ASTM, IEC and UL, etc.).
- Fundamental knowledge of any of the following fields, including their manufacturing methods and respective failure modes: metallurgy, glass, ceramics, elastomers, polymers, paints, electroplated coatings, adhesives, and woods, etc.
- Strong ability in problem solving and equipment troubleshooting.
- The ability to efficiently prioritize multiple concurrent tasks, meet deadlines and manage time independently; must maintain top level professional integrity and appearance throughout.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish effective working relationships.
- Leadership experience with a strong track record of developing others is also highly desirable.
