Job Description

The Product Robust Engineer is responsible for performing a wide variety of product verifications on a broad spectrum of materials and devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Exhibiting competence in any of the following aspects:
    • Mechanical/electrical/thermal performances
    • Environmental and Weathering performances
    • Process verifications
    • Aerosol characterizations
  • Independently and accurately experimental performing and data collecting, stratify results and issue reports for approval.
  • Manage the laboratory assets, ensuring all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and serviced.
  • Develop, author, and ensure conformance to laboratory standard operating procedures.
  • Support product quality control in the root cause analysis of test failures and failure analysis work-streams.
  • Support management in the procurement, purchase, and installation of new equipment.
  • Update the SOPs of reliability tests and other laboratory management-related documents.
  • Improve efficiency, minimize equipment downtime, and reduce costs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A degree in Bachelor of Science.
  • Specialization in Electronic Application and Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering would be an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with electronic device testing in a laboratory setting.
  • Extensive operational experience with reliability testing equipment and understanding of their functions and mechanisms.
  • Fundamental knowledge of materials-centric test standards (ASTM, IEC and UL, etc.).
  • Fundamental knowledge of any of the following fields, including their manufacturing methods and respective failure modes: metallurgy, glass, ceramics, elastomers, polymers, paints, electroplated coatings, adhesives, and woods, etc.
  • Strong ability in problem solving and equipment troubleshooting.
  • The ability to efficiently prioritize multiple concurrent tasks, meet deadlines and manage time independently; must maintain top level professional integrity and appearance throughout.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish effective working relationships.
  • Leadership experience with a strong track record of developing others is also highly desirable.
