Job Description
Espresso Capital, a leading venture debt firm focused on the technology sector, is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our growing team as an analyst in our Loan Origination Group. Espresso works closely with fast growing companies and their investors, including leading venture capital and growth equity firms, to provide unique financing solutions to help them accelerate growth. Based in Toronto, you will work closely with senior members of our Loan Origination Group to support the identification and qualification of new business opportunities. This position presents a unique opportunity to play an important role with one of the most active investors in the technology sector while working with innovative companies across North America and Europe.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work closely with members of the Origination Team to identify prospects that meet Espresso’s investment mandate.
- Support members of the Origination Team in the qualification and execution of investment opportunities.
- Attend industry conferences and events, participate in inbound and outbound sales activities, and other business development initiatives.
- Manage and maintain databases and provide regular analysis and reporting of key metrics in support of Origination activities.
- Work closely with members of Espresso’s Senior Leadership Team on special projects and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Highly motivated with a strong interest in business development, relationship management, and venture capital investing.
- Previous experience in software/technology sales, credit origination, venture capital, accounting, finance, sales/business development or other related positions.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Law, Finance or equivalent.
- Strong and demonstrable analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion to consistently meet or exceed performance objectives.
- Strong team oriented approach with an ability to work independently.
- Experience with Salesforce/CRMs and data management in Excel is an asset.
