Position Overview:
Reporting to Operations Manager, the Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and transmitting clear and reliable messages, tracking vehicles and equipment and recording other important information. The role also includes providing a high degree of customer service in a fast paced environment. This position is a split shift from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and then 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday -- depending on the needs of the day, as spare school bus driving is required. This position will be based in London.
Primary Responsibilities
Dispatching
- Contact drivers via radio/email with route/student changes
- Alert drivers to road closures or delays
- Take responsibility for the Emergency Response Plan in the event of a serious collision
- Identifies all runs and drivers are active on routes on time to ensure no students are left behind or missed
Administration
- Manages, updates and pulls reports from Zonar and Bushive
- Manages and updates student, driver and Asset maintenance in Velocity
- Manages and assists garage with scheduling vehicle maintenance
- Manages and assists supervisors with student portal information updates for drivers routes
Customer Service
- Contacts Consortium, Zonar and Bushive for route/vehicle updates as per Consortium Contract
- Answers telephones, faxes, and Voyago emails
- Assigns driver for Charter trips
Driving
- Occasionally required to cover school routes
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Post Secondary Education or Equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Excellent time and stress management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Class B drivers licence or ability to upgrade
- Clean criminal record search
- Must hold a clean driving record
