Core Operations Team Leads support the fast-pace day to day operations of the team. They also support leadership in managing risk and meeting compliance requirements intelligently, with analytics, grit, and grace. We manage millions of dollars, so the stakes are high. It originated as a brokerage and continues to expand to deliver a wider breadth of financial services to our clients.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Help lead a team of motivated Operations Associates and Specialists to provide a seamless Institutional Transfer experience at Wealthsimple
- Support the management and transformation of a complex money movement process
- Set metrics, identify operational improvements, and drive productivity measures with an innovative approach
- Use data to prioritize Core Technology work, set requirements, work cross functionally to help build out technological solutions
- Develop new processes, and keep prioritized backlog of what we can improve/automate/outsource
- Help lead and develop a diverse and high performing team
- People leadership - experienced at leading and driving others to action

- 3-5 years experience on a high performing brokerage and/or transfers team, startup/fintech would be a plus); ideally, experience engaging with other financial institutions, working with LOIs and manual processes like cheques
- 2-3 years in a leadership role
- Experience managing team members including supporting their professional development
- Shown demonstrated progression, have effectively led a team
- Passionate about technology, specifically fintech
