Job Description

Position Summary:

The Division Manager is responsible for the Division’s operational planning, day-to-day operation, and customer service. The Division delivers fuel, propane, and lubricant products to residential, commercial, agricultural and government customers in the region. Key to the Manager’s success will be their ability to simultaneously roll up his/her sleeves and manage the daily operational requirements, improve efficiency and lead the customer service of the operation. The Manager ensures that financial objectives are met by growing volumes, controlling margins and expenses, and motivating employees to deliver exceptional service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing excellent relationships with customers by providing them with timely and personalized service that exceeds expectations.
  • Growing the business through individual efforts and leveraging of industry contacts, effective deployment of sales personnel, local advertising, and community involvement.
  • Responsible for the operational planning and business analysis.
  • Maintaining the safe, efficient and clean operation of company assets, including vehicles, bulk plant, card lock, fuel tanks, and other.
  • Monitoring and demonstrating accountability for Division financial performance.
  • Training, motivate, and providing support to all Division employees, assisting them in the consistent delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Building effective relationships with suppliers of equipment and contracting services, ensuring that both parties work collaboratively to grow the Division’s customer base.
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of all employees, on site contractors and customers. Ensuring a safe working environment, investigation of incidents, accidents and injuries. Preparing reports and maintaining records and reviews and following up on investigation reports, as required.
  • Ensuring that the Division employees, equipment, and practices are compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements, including: TSSA, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Environment, MTO, etc.

Requirements

Education and Experience Required:

  • Experience leading operations in a customer service-oriented environment.
  • Previous experience effectively managing a team.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Entrepreneurial and business savvy.

  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Provides outstanding leadership and possesses exceptional organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Able to demonstrate exceptional business integrity.
  • Ability to display initiative and demonstrate sound business judgment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites and other MacEwen locations when required.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends when so required.
