The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Summer Student to join our Information Technology team.
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Summer Student is responsible for supporting changes to our applications and websites.

What your day looks like:
- Review business and technical requirements in both an agile and waterfall environment
- Contribute towards test planning and record defects
- Conduct multi-browser and multi-device compatibility testing
- Provide testing status updates
- Maintain bug tracking logs from initiation to resolution
- Write and execute test plans, test cases and test automation scripts to ensure quality coverage of all testing projects
- Conduct all types of testing for third party software and internally developed applications.
- Collaborate with other testers, and the business to ensure proper testing of all applications
- Troubleshoot and propose resolutions
- Participate in meetings, walkthrough and presentations of new features as well as changes to existing functionality
- Be willing to learn numerous functions within the team
Learning Opportunities:
This role provides an opportunity to learn various testing techniques using different tools and gain insight to the various areas with in IT.
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Currently enrolled to attend post secondary education in the fall of 2021 (e.g. college or university)
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft tools
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Attention to detail and able to prioritize
- Effective information gathering and timely follow up
- Motivated to learn and gain experience
- Able to work effectively independently and as a team member
- Fluent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- You will be working remotely and must have internet access during business hours
- We are open to students from all across Canada, however for this role you must be able to work business hours in the Pacific time zone (PDT)
