As ATB Wealth’s next Financial Modelling Specialist you are a strategic thinker, offering a balance of business savvy, natural curiosity and strong analytical capabilities. They will work with the Business, the Finance Team and the Internal Project Sponsors to develop financial modelling and prepare financial analysis across many initiatives within ATB Wealth. The role will involve being immersed in multiple projects and working closely with stakeholders to ensure financial implications are fully understood as part of Wealth’s strategic initiative screening, approval, development of performance metrics and performance monitoring process.
The Financial Modelling Specialist will report to the MD, Business Finance but will directly service the needs of multiple stakeholders. The right candidate will have the ability to manage multiple deliverables while prioritizing competing demands.
Requirements
Financial Modelling Specialist Accountabilities:
- Develops, performs and maintains financial modelling and analysis on key projects, concepts and business performance and provides solution-oriented ideas to enhance project and strategic decision outcomes;
- Ensures product and pricing activities align with the financial objectives of the line of business and the enterprise;
- Conducts profitability analysis on the structure and pricing of existing and proposed products amp; services;
- Provides advice and guidance to leaders in their decision making on matters that could impact the bottom line;
- Supports the annual budget cycle, long range financial planning and quarterly regulatory capital forecasting;
- Directly supports the Finance team and Business partners in financial analysis, reporting and story development as required;
- Superior analytical skills and attention to detail in order to dissect and digest complex issues and projects;
- Demonstrated success in initiating and ensuring the completion of complex projects with minimal supervision;
- Creativity in problem solving and a history of innovation, which has resulted in a positive contribution to the success of the organization;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate analytics into story and present ideas in an insightful and engaging ways;
- Ability to work independently and in a consultative role with leaders and other stakeholders in the business, including senior leadership;
- Ability to communicate the impact of complex strategies and concepts to the profitability of many different lines of business with the potential to how the business thinks about the profitability of their portfolio;
- Strong organizational skills in order to prioritize multiple activities and deliver results in an environment with competing demands;
REQUIREMENTS:
- University degree preferably in Accounting, Business or Finance
- CFA, CPA or other finance designation
- Formal training and minimum 2 years experience in modelling techniques, profitability and scenario analysis
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Vena and ability to navigate other software platforms as required
- IIROC/wealth management industry experience and education would be an asset
