Job Description
Since 1983, a.p.i. Alarm Inc. has been a Canadian leader in security and safety solutions.
We are looking for team players to provide alarm monitoring and verification services in our world-class monitoring station located at 5775 Yonge Street, North York, Ontario (right beside Finch Subway Station).
You will receive on the job training to talk to customers and emergency services from across the country. Our focus is customer service. As a Central Station Agent, you will be involved in keeping communities safe and saving lives.
- Monitor fire, medical and security alarm systems using specialized monitoring software and equipment
- Process inbound calls relating to our customer's fire, medical and security systems efficiently and in a professional manner
- Place outbound calls to verify alarms, dispatch the proper authorities and notify responsible parties
- Follow central station procedures, regulations and guidelines
Requirements
We are looking for candidates that are self starters and able to work well in a team environment or independently
- Must be able to work at any time including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
- Only full-time positions are available
- Must be able to work 12 hour shifts
- Verbal fluency in Punjabi is an asset
- Must have excellent telephone and communication skills with verbal and written fluency in English
- Have the ability to make logical fact-based decisions
- Have the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Have advanced computer proficiency with a minimum of 40 wpm typing speed
- Have the ability to sit for extended periods of time while responding to emergencies
- Previous experience in a alarm monitoring or call centre environment is an asset

- Starting rate: $17.00/hour
- Night shift premium: $1.00/hour
