REAL is a not-for-profit corporation that operates the 100 acre property, Evraz Place, that hosts the majority of Regina’s major events every year, and serves as an important anchor within the tourism industry provincially, nationally and internationally.

We are a centre of excellence for entertainment, business, sport, recreation and cultural activities that acts as the delivery agent for more than 3.5M annual visits to Evraz Place campus and has served the Province of Saskatchewan with community entrepreneurship since 1884. THE OPPORTUNITY AWAITS YOU

Reporting to the Sport and Recreation Program Specialist, the position of Sport and Recreation Program Coordinator is a member of REAL’s Corporate Development team. This position is responsible for performing administrative duties related to the activities of the programming department and provides front line event delivery services to the public in all sport and recreation facilities on the REAL campus. Using event and program management experience, this position assists special event clientele with the planning and successful execution of events. This position is also responsible for supporting facility scheduling and communicating event and program changes and working closely with team members from other departments (i.e. Operations, Food amp; Beverage, Marketing, Sales) to ensure all needs are met. The Sport amp; Recreation Program Coordinator assists in the overall safety and efficient operations of the REAL campus as identified.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Serves as a member of REAL’s Sport and Recreation Team delivering a results focus by:

  • Utilizing EventPro to generate license agreements, contracts, event service orders, client correspondence, monitoring multiple booking, recording inquiries, entering and updating client contact information, placing holds and recording cancellations;
  • Actively ensures the retention and growth of REAL’s customer base which includes promoting REAL facilities and services to new and existing customers;
  • Works with other departments to resolve problems, facilitate solutions and enhance customer service offerings;

Performs administrative duties related to the activities of the programming department by:

  • Creating and receiving signed license agreements, contracts, event service orders, invoices deposits and insurance documents by the required due dates with final sign off and approvals provided by management;
  • Acts as a liaison for sport specific special event clients and day to day sport and recreation events (i.e. Hockey Regina, U of R Cougars, Regina Soccer Association, Regina Pat Canadians, Regina Rebels and the U of R Rams, etc). to ensure all aspects of their event needs are met in a timely matter;
  • Assists Sport and Recreation Program Specialist by accessing the City of Regina scheduling system for available facility times and, where applicable, takes information from clients for potential rentals;
  • Assists Sport and Recreation Program Specialist with the scheduling of casual ice rentals and other sport amp; rec rentals throughout campus;
  • Assists Sport and Rec Program Specialist in the initial allocation scheduling of ice (i.e. CCHL, 3 on 3, drop in, adult programs) and the scheduling of other sport amp; rec bookings;
  • Performs clerical duties;
  • Diligently works to ensure that all essential event details have been considered, notices errors or inconsistencies that others have missed, and takes prompt, thorough action to correct errors;
  • Conducts follow up communication to clients to ensure all needs are met, complaints and inquiries are handled effectively, and events are run satisfactorily; escalating to Management where appropriate;
  • Completes a weekly walk through of facilities to identify areas of maintenance and repair and communicates identified areas to operations;
  • Provides feedback on how to improve services and operations based on input, comments, and suggestions from special event clients and facility users.
