About the Role

Reporting into Production Manager, this position will provide leadership and administrative support and manage BE Safety and Quality programs. The main objective of this role will be on promoting a safe and healthy work environment, with a strong focus on quality assurance and facilities maintenance, as well as Shop operations.

Main Responsibilities

Health amp; Safety:

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (including COVID19 orders)
  • Leading and participating in JHSC meetings and BE Health amp; Safety program
  • Conducting accident and incident investigations and identifying methods to prevent reoccurrences; following up on corrective actions, ensuring timely completion
  • Preparing safety plans, conducting hazard assessments, and risk assessments
  • Developing safety policies and procedures, including Business Continuity Plan
  • Communicate with WorkSafe case managers on employee claims and GRTW programs
  • Track and oversee Health and Safety performance metrics, compiling trends and using data to support safety objectives
  • Overseeing and maintaining BE forklift training/certification program
  • Overseeing BE First Aid program
  • Planning, developing and implementing safety training for new employee orientation and annual required programs.
  • Meet minimum daily QC audit requirements
  • Manage the Return-to-Stock program (Shop, EOL, Sub etc.)
  • Look after the Receiving RMA Process
  • Responsible for Production/Receiving Quality Check Process
  • Assist Shop when necessary

Facilities Maintenance

  • Fleet maintenance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Red Tag program)
  • Overseeing landscaping and facilities maintenance
  • Maintain maintenance ticketing system (i.e. service jobs, requests prioritizations)

Requirements

  • Experience in the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience overseeing health and safety in a manufacturing environment
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 2 certificate or willingness to attain one
  • Material Handling equipment experience and/or certification or willingness to attend one
  • Knowledge of applicable Provincial/State safety legislation and regulation, Occupational Health and Safety standards is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and records
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organization, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Steel toed shoes/boots are a must, other PPE provided
