We have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Manager, Content Partnerships to join our Content Group team.

As a Senior Manager, Content Partnerships, you will work with partners and provide the support they need to ensure positive and sustainable relationships. This is a cross functional and highly strategic role that requires strong partnerships with many internal teams. You will drive revenue in your assigned region and negotiate commercial terms with existing and future content partners. Aiming for a comprehensive and immersive content offering, you will engage your creative and analytical skills to drive success for content providers and PressReader, including distribution, revenue, and reader attraction and engagement. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and manage key accounts in assigned countries/regions for the PressReader platform (Newsstand and Print), leading other team members that provide support in those countries
  • Identify and achieve short- and medium-term goals including, but not limited to, those listed in team KPIs
  • Acquire key content in assigned territories, using country-level analyses to inform expenditure decisions made with the Senior Director
  • Negotiate contracts with new partners as well as the renegotiation of old contracts for existing publishers.
  • Nurture strong relationships with content providers, fostering regular communications and the resolution of any issues in a timely manner
  • Drive content requirements and revenue across the business, by working closely with internal teams such as Content Integration, Branded Editions, Marketing, Accounting, Legal and the various B2B sales teams
  • Deliver qualified leads to Branded Editions team to assist with sales of PressReader’s white label solution
  • Develop and expand revenue opportunities within target countries, utilizing partner relationships and business plans to drive PressReader targets as well as key objectives for content providers
  • Participate and represent PressReader at various trade events internationally as well as in-person meetings within target countries (dependent on the Canadian government’s guidelines relating to COVID-19 and international travel)
  • Act as a senior member of the Content Group, providing coaching and support to other team members where needed, particularly when the Senior Director is unavailable
  • Manage processes and tasks that are integral to the performance of the Content Group

You are a great fit if you have:

  • At least 5 years experience either in business development, sales or account management role and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Journalism
  • Experience in a leadership role both managing and coaching a team
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Excellent writing, editing amp; presentation skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office, SAAS Systems including Slack, CRM system
  • Analytical mindset and the ability to identify and develop revenue opportunities
  • Proven ability to manage and develop key accounts in major countries/regions
  • Strong negotiation skills with a result driven approach
  • Sense of humor with an outgoing personality
  • A desire to work in a flexible schedule
  • A self-reliant and efficient attitude
  • An optimistic and persistent outlook
  • Ability to travel internationally

Bonus points if you:

  • Have a Master’s Degree in Business or Journalism
  • Have a strong interest in the technology sector

This role is a full-time position based in our Richmond, BC office. Working from home is available during the Covid pandemic and we are considering hybrid solutions post-pandemic.
