Vention is looking for a Sr. UI/UX Designer to be the gatekeeper of our user experience and maximize the ease-of-use and best-in-class visual representation across all platforms (Web, CAD, Apps). As part of the product team, you will work collaboratively across project teams working on research, testing, prototyping and designing. In your role, you will work closely with the product managers and stakeholders to develop intuitive and thoughtful designs.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct usability testing and user interviews, and analyze feedback
- Conceptualize, design and deliver wireframes, prototypes, user and task flows, user scenarios, and interaction recommendations
- Participate in design team reviews, sharing, and brainstorms
- Present and defend fact-based design decisions. Decisions should be based on the design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental UX/UI principles
- Understand real-world user and client problems and propose smart design solutions to address them
- Provide insights and learnings from the industry in order to guide the development of the UI/UX for all platforms
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness, performance)
Requirements
- 2 years or more of relevant UX experience with an interest or experience in UI design
- Thorough understanding of usability, information architecture, design best practices and industry standards
- Experience with Sketch, Invision, Adobe Photoshop, JustinMind or other similar design/prototyping tools
- Creativity and flexibility with respect to idea generation and problem-solving
- Strong understanding of web and mobile technologies and associated design principles
- Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and a user-first orientation
- Proven organizational, planning and project management skills, an asset
- Interest or experience in 3D design, CAD or engineering, an asset
