We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance New Product Specialist! This role is based out of our plant facility located in London, ON and reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor

Job Summary:

In this role, the QA New Product Specialist will focus on the administration of the new product approval process throughout the plant through measuring, testing, recording, and reporting results of new product development and new part approvals samples prior to the release of products for production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure and perform product testing on samples from new product trial runs and record results
  • Create detailed dimensional reports and product testing reports to help make informed decisions relative to tooling, and processing
  • Complete dimensioning, testing and reporting to satisfy certification agency requirements for approvals
  • Create new part approval binders capturing all pertinent product related information in one location making it accessible for future reference
  • Measuring and analyzing the data using statistical methods, capability studies, and creating run/control charts
  • Work with QA Coordinator to organize certification agency witness testing and submissions for part certification
  • Problem solve and develop corrective action for issues that arise during part approvals
  • Generate, review, and update several different document requirements (pack instructions, inspection reports, test methods)
  • Review, approve, and monitor moulding providers to verify they are capable of ongoing production that meets all IPEX requirements
  • Assists in the investigation of customer complaints through testing or measuring samples as required
  • Assist with gage calibration scheduling and adherence to procedures
  • Maintain, clean, and organize QA lab, testing facilities and equipment
  • Perform a variety of other tasks as the need arises

Requirements

  • Minimum community college diploma or certificate (university preferred)
  • Quality Assurance Certificate from a recognized institution or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering would be and asset
  • Knowledge of Process Capability and Statistical Process Control concepts and practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality assurance processes, and measuring skills along with ISO standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and experience with problem solving techniques
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel
  • Mechanical aptitude, and the ability to trouble shoot testing fixtures and test set ups
  • Works well in teams and a good collaborator
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of tasks and projects and use sound judgment based on previous practices and precedence
  • High attention to detail and ability to produce quality work
  • Strong work ethic and desire to achieve goals and results

Working conditions:

  • Exposure to a considerable level of hazards consistent with a manufacturing environment, such as chemicals, commercial products, toxins, moving machinery, repetitive motion, excessive noise, powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/ bucket lift/other.
  • Often works in an office environment with long periods of sitting
  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
  • May be required to perform a moderate level of specific tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, muscular action, body movements, working positions, posture changes, visual attentiveness
  • Will be required to occasionally wear protective eyewear, appropriate gloves, hearing protection, safety shoes, and/or other PPE
  • Employee is expected to communicate by telephone, e-mail, and in-person discussions
