Primary Job Purpose

The main focus of this role will be to serve the staff of Divine, by guiding and managing the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire organization. The HR Generalist leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, serving orientated culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a best in class workforce. The HR Generalist will advise Management amp; Supervisors in all areas of HR and be responsible for overseeing full recruiting from creating job descriptions, phone screening, hiring and presenting offers.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Consult Management with appropriate actions in the HR Framework including but not limited to Strategy, Recruitment, Compensation, Learning and Development and Employee Engagement.
  • Work with Managers of departments in all regions to align supply and demand of employees with organization goals.
  • Lead the direction of the Community Involvement plan.
  • Oversee recruitment including: posting jobs, screening resumes, conducting phone interviews, coordinating interviews with Supervisors/Managers, contacting references and drafting offer letters.
  • Oversee the Benefits administration from enrolling, removing employees, reviewing and anzalyzing plans.
  • Manage the Semi-Monthly payroll for Canada and US payroll.
  • Review and modify pay structures based on external markets.
  • Oversee and assist the HR Coordinator and Managers through the termination process.
  • Interview and job shadow staff from all levels of the organization to gather information on current workflow.
  • Document the as is process models, compare them to the to be process models and determine the necessary steps for change.
  • Facilitate meetings with staff to identify current challenges and collaborate on workflow changes and improvements.
  • Work with Software Development to implement software changes and improvements to facilitate improved work flow.
  • Work with Supervisors and Management to develop employee training manuals.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of processes on a continuous basis.

Requirements

Skills Required Technical

  • Demonstrated knowledge with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Rise or similar payroll software.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a HR Generalist Role

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Displays a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Self-directed, adaptable and able to work within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects of the position.

Education and Experience Required

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role.
  • Knowledge of provincial employment standards legislation in operating provinces.
  • Post-Secondary education with a degree or certificate in Human Resources.
  • CHRP Designation is considered an asset.
