What is the role?

As an AEC Integration Specialist (Internally the role will be: Digital Construction or Digital Fabrication Specialist), you will be part of a team that executes complex virtual construction projects using cutting-edge software :

  • The Digital Construction team creates digital twins of buildings to assess its' constructability and provide solutions.
  • The Digital Fabrication team creates detailed 3D models and drawings of building components to be fabricated off-site.

Role Responsibilities:

As part of the Digital Construction and Digital Fabrication services team, the Digital Construction/Digital Fabrication Specialist will be primarily responsible for:

  • Creating Structural (Concrete, wood-frame, mass timber and steel systems) and/or Mechanical (Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical) 3D models for construction and/or fabrication.
  • Virtual design and construction studies of construction documentation (2D drawings and specifications) for all building elements (i.e. architectural, civil, structural, mechanical amp; electrical), integrating all disciplines into one central 3D parametric model using CATIA.
  • Providing constructability feedback through the creation of virtual RFI reports outlining constructability issues for the client.
  • Attending and supporting project coordination meetings, delivering live reports to customers and construction personnel for large Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) projects.
  • Managing revisions in the Construction Digital Twin 3D model that take place throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Generating various detailing packages linked to the Construction Digital Twin 3D model.
  • Extensive modeling in CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities (i.e. applying manufacturing engineering methodologies to large-scale construction projects).
  • Using our internally-developed cmCore products to deliver projects to our customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Willingness to learn the construction industry and how to read construction documents.
  • Willingness to learn structural and mechanical design engineering of AEC projects.
  • Knowledge of parametric CAD software (i.e. CATIA, Solidworks, Siemens NX, etc.) desirable
  • Knowledge of REVIT, Tekla or AutoCAD a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills desirable
  • A detailed-oriented teammate with the drive to work in a dynamic, challenging and fast growing company and grow with the company.
  • Excellent team player
  • Coding experience in VBA, EKL, or C# a plus

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English
  • Legally entitled to work full-time in Canada

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical engineering preferred, but all engineering and construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply (Co-op/Internship students can also apply if working towards a degree).
