Senior Frontend Developer
Prodigy Labs, Canada

Prodigy Labs is looking to hire a talented Frontend Developer to join our agile development team! We are building out IDVerifacts Digital Identity Platform, a multitenant software as a service (SaaS) application that will revolutionize digital identity verification and identity assertion, agnostic of industry silos. You will develop and test the new SaaS API product and a multi-tenant reference implementation web-app that consumes the API, and integrates with a vendor through APIs. You will work closely with the Architect on design and implementation while also being hands on with development, DevOps and peer code review. You will primarily work on IDVerifacts Digital Identity Platform, and provide Frontend support on additional Prodigy projects and websites. A successful candidate will have strong experience with frontend and be open to learning Python. Previous backend experience in any technology is an asset.

• Document development standards for IDVerifact
• Focus will be on Frontend development, however at times you may be asked to work with Python to support Backend development in when there is limited Frontend work
• Follow standards for Frontend and Backend development
• Setup a practice/process to ensure that existing / new development team follows the standards
• Document a process for automated dev-ops deployment from dev/QA/Staging/Prod
• Establish QA check points for deploying to each environment
• Document and establish a regular backup strategy for critical environments
• Document restore procedure for a given environment (This should not be trial and error but a very prescribed steps that any new person can follow)
• Own a backlog of technology items to be implemented for overall improvising the technology stack
• Participate in scrum meetings, backlog/sprint planning and sprint demos
• Work closely with Product Owner to develop UX/UI from mockups
• Work as part of a team to plan and prioritize the upcoming work
• As required, work within a team for Client project delivery
• Develop custom UX/UI for clients as it relates to the delivery of IDVerifact

Requirements

• 7+ years overall professional experience in software development, data analytics and governance (preference in a financial services organization)
• Experience and knowledge of React, and Java (or other backend experience) is an asset
• Experience and/or knowledge of Python is an asset
• Minimum 4-5 years professional experience using React/Redux
• Minimum 4-5 years professional experience using Node
• Minimum 1-2 years professional experience using React Hooks
• Expert level JavaScript ES6 capabilities
• A strong understanding of APIs and knowledge of microservice patterns
• Good understanding of data structures and experience with relational databases
• Experience with source control (e.g. Git + Github) and modern software delivery techniques and tools, including pull requests
• At least 2 years of solid hands-on programming experience, with a sizable portion in JavaScript
• Some exposure to DevOps best practices and cloud computing
• Ownership mentality / attitude to own tasks till they are accomplished
• Be proactive on things rather than waiting for instructions to be given
• Thinking outside of one role and willing to put additional thought to do what is right and required
• Step up to improve things from technology aspect outside of requirements, seeing how things can be made better
• University level education Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Computer Sciences, Mathematics or Engineering preferred
• Experience collaborating with a group of cross-cultural team members that bring a variety of skills and diversities
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
• Excellent collaboration skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be comfortable with Client communications and online (zoom) presentations/demos
