SQL Developer

We are looking for a full time SQL Developer to join our fast paced, dynamic, growing organization. This role will report to the Development Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures for and database queries
  • Analyze existing SQL Queries for performance improvements
  • Design and update database schema
  • Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of our database
  • Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role
  • Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Engineering/IT or equivalent
  • Approximately 5+ years of SQL Development / DBA experience (professional work experience)
  • Experience working at a B2B technology company working with cloud DB technology
  • Proficiency with MySQL or MariaDB, and a deep understanding of relational database systems
  • Experience with stored procedures and database scripting
  • Proficiency at diagnosing and troubleshooting errors
  • Experience with AWS environments, ie. setup, replicate, backup, monitoring, etc.
  • You are an organized, disciplined, self-starter, capable of working independently or in close collaboration within an agile development team
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in an IT environment
  • Self-motivated, with good communication and collaboration skills
