Position Summary:Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, the Business Intelligence Engineer plays an important role as a supporting member of the Enterprise Data amp; Analytics Team and the broader employee base of PointClickCare. Customer service and a positive, supportive personality are essential to the success of this role.The Business Intelligence Engineer will be responsible for aiding the process of defining and developing the system requirements of our internal business customers. The Business Intelligence Engineer is an engineer who is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining BI interfaces. Those include query tools, data visualization and interactive dashboards, ad hoc reporting, ETL, data extraction, data integration and data modeling tools. The Business Intelligence Engineer will also lead the development of training material and providing training on the systems and processes developed by the Enterprise Data amp; Analytics Group. The Business Intelligence Engineer will also play a key role in the support and documentation of existing Enterprise Data amp; Analytics systems.Key Responsibilities:Collaborating with end users responsible for identifying business needs, translating those into analytics/reporting requirements and solutions. Designs prototypes, codes and tests new data visualizations and data extracts, data transformations, data integration methods (data pipelines, event hubs, data streaming, etc) or enhanced SQL queriesDesigning and developing enterprise-wide data analysis and reporting solutions Reviewing and analyzing data from multiple internal and external sources. Communicating analysis results and making recommendations to senior management Developing data cleansing rules for the companyDeveloping new BI services offerings, content creation and value propositionsPerforms customer support processes and activities for the implementation of new or existing Reporting and Analytic applications.Monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshoots problems, as necessaryPreliminary research and investigation of software and evaluating new products and services to judge their suitability for useGuiding process design and implementation in departments external to Business Intelligence groupImproving and streamlining processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value.Staying current with industry trends for Business IntelligenceWriting relational and multidimensional database queries. Administration of scheduled tasks.Creating and deploying reports.Supporting the existing Enterprise Data amp; Analytics environment by providing support for troubleshooting data load, ETL, reporting and data visualization related issues.
