Saw and Blanchard Grinder Operator

Job Description
Ensure the safe and accurate operation of a band saw and Blanchard grinder by cutting materials to the correct requirements and grinding plate steel to tolerance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reads and interprets basic blueprints
- Completes daily stock inventory reports
- Unload raw materials from trucks and store material
- Maintains equipment and ensures work area is clean
- Performs basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment
- Monitor shop cleanliness, identify potential safety hazards due to untidiness, advise supervisor and clean up accordingly
- Maintain compliance with health and safety procedures; inform management on unsafe practices
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Operates over head crane and forklift
- Training available on the Blanchard Grinder
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- OSSD or equivalent
- Forklift Licence Training Available
- Overhead Crane Training Available
- Valid Class G License
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of health and safety and safe operation procedures
- Understanding of manufacturing environment
- Trade tools, equipment, materials and methods/techniques used in safe band saw operation
- Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
- Machine Guarding procedure
