BLANKSLATE Partners is thrilled to be supporting Shop This City as they grow their team.

Our core product is a mobile application that allows users to search for clothing, beauty and lifestyle items in local boutique stores that have partnered with us. Allowing us to present live inventory of thousands of items searchable and sortable by location, brand, style, and more. We will be expanding to offer tools to our partner stores, brands and trend reporting to industry stakeholders, as well as working with new cities. Our products target the problematic space of clothing retail online, which suffers from very high return rates and low consumer confidence, we promote Browse digitally, Shop locally.

Shop This City is seeking an experienced front end developer and UX designer to help deliver our products to our users across a range of mobile and web applications. This role will work at the direction of our Lead / Senior Full Stack Developer to implement front end experiences in web applications as well as our mobile app. Candidates should expect to assume lead / management roles for front end developers as our company grows, though the successful candidate would become our only dedicated front end developer.

Requirements

Candidates should have experience and understanding of the following disciplines within these categories:

DevOps amp; Collaboration:

• CI/CD principals and pipelines
• Familiarity with industry standard version control (git etc)
• Project review and collaborative development methods (agile / code review etc)

Front end development:

• Modern javascript frameworks with a preference for Vue.js
• Ability to deliver front end web applications working in collaboration with other full stack and server side developers
• Experience interpreting business case requirements, feature requests to develop excellent responsive user experiences that look and feel modern amp; performant
• Experience in front end components relating to data reporting (libraries such as chart.js or similar handling visual display of data)
• Familiarity with popular front end frameworks (e.g. bootstrap)

Design and prototyping:

• Experience creating visually appealing layouts for a variety of user types
• Experience with any prototyping / UX design flow tools (Adobe XD etc)
• Ability to communicate design ideas clearly to technical colleagues as well as non technical clients

Mobile Front End:

(these are "nice to have")

• Familiarity with Ionic Hybrid Mobile application design components
• Familiarity with react.js
• Familiarity with designing layouts and user flows for mobile applications
