Job Description

CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you! We are currently searching for a Coordinator, Team Operations! The successful candidate will actively support business administrative responsibilities for the CNIB BC/Yukon Team, ensuring all areas of operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Coordinator, Team Operations will also assist the team with the development and fostering of an inclusive, empowered culture where every team member staff and volunteer feels their contributions towards our mission are equally valued and respected.

Your impact at CNIB
  • Helps to make CNIB the organization of choice for volunteers assisting the program leads to develop and maintain a positive culture of volunteerism.
  • Provides administrative support to the senior leadership volunteer groups, the management team, and the BC/Yukon staff team.
  • Ensures all materials/reports are in an accessible format.
  • Looks after property and office equipment maintenance at New Westminster hub.
  • Liaises with Property Management and maintenance suppliers to keep building running efficiently.
  • Looks for efficiencies in office processes, procedures, and office expenses.
  • Assists the team with the planning, coordination and delivery of activities and events. Schedules appointments and meetings, arranges appropriate services, catering and equipment needs for meetings and presentations, as required.
  • Liaises with Business Supports Services including People and Culture, Finance, IT and Property as required.
  • Co-ordinates centralized reports and activities as requested.
  • Performs other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation and responsiveness of the team.

  • Minute-taking skills and good knowledge of meeting protocols.
  • Effectively demonstrates understanding and championing of diversity and accessibility issues.
  • Able to facilitate and enhance team-efforts on a professional level and share specialized knowledge, experience, and skills.
  • Good relationship/team builder and networking skills with a variety of stakeholders. Able to develop, encourage and promote effective partnerships and community relations that supports CNIB’s mission.
  • Excellent analytical, problem definition and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven time management, planning, coordinating and organization skills.
  • Able to multi-task, manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Professional attitude, results oriented, strategic, and flexible.
We want to hear from you if you have:
  • Certificate or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in administrative support within a charity/not-for-profit organization.
  • Experience working with senior leadership volunteers.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in using virtual platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Proficient with Client Record Management Systems; particularly Salesforce.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and vision loss is considered an asset
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset
