Hours of Operation

  • Afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday (3pm-1:30am) with occasional overtime.


Reporting to the Production Supervisor, Lead Hands are the first point of contact for employees. This is a hands-on role on the production line; the successful candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a positive, results-driven attitude with a strong focus on safety.

Responsibilities

• Assembly line production tasks

• Coordinate teams, including daily organization of crew tasks

• Train new employees in role specific tasks

• Ensure quality control standards are adhered to

• Ongoing safety training and hazard assessment

• Demonstrate continuous improvement activities and work habits

• First point of contact for employee issues

Requirements

• 1 2 years hands on experience in a mechanical assembly environment, preferably with experience in a Lead Hand or trainer role.

• Interest in training and leading people

• Physically fit, energetic and self-motivated

• Understanding and commitment to safety standards

• Calm demeanor and strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Computer skills and competency required

• Experience with continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen) manufacturing concepts is a strong asset
