Job Overview:
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of electrical designers and PLC programmers; planning, directing and coordinating installation and commissioning activities within several simultaneous projects timely and accurately. We are looking to add someone to our team who is a lateral thinker, able to navigate complexity, inspire, reframe, embrace ambiguity, and prototype solutions.
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Degree in a Mechatronics or Automation program or equivalent experience and training
- Minimum of 5+ years in a managerial or supervisory role with direct reports
- Knowledgeable in PLC programming, VFD’s and robot programming (ABB, Kuka, etc)
- Experience with Allen Bradley, SLC, Logix, Automation Direct - Directsoft 5 and Productivity, Omron and Siemens
- Familiar with creating graphical interfaces using - Factory Talk View, C-more, Indusoft
- Experience in the food processing, material handling or agricultural industries
- Able to maintain professionalism when dealing with clients in all interfaces
- Applied knowledge of Continuous Improvement techniques
- Able to work with a variety of personality types and resolve conflicts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You operate with a team spirit, not with ego; you want everyone, including yourself, to do their best work; you see your success as dependent on the success of the team
- You have the ability to think beyond the needs of the customer to point out errors and potential issues
- You are able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, cope effectively with complexity and change, quickly understand and absorb new information and respond appropriately
