Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

As a member of the Maintenance team, the Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the allocation and management of resources to successfully complete required maintenance activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that shift support teams are fully qualified to support all shifts to maintain production requirements
  • Reviews monthly performance metrics and implements continuous improvement/performance management actions
  • Implements and maintains work order system and electronic purchasing/maintenance management system
  • Purchases maintenance supplies as required
  • Provides input into equipment maintenance, repair, and purchase decisions
  • Provides input into annual facility contracts
  • Provides technical support for engineering projects
  • Obtains quotations for facility and equipment repairs / improvements that involve external contractors
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adheres to Stackpole’s policies and procedures
  • Adheres and supports Stackpole’s Safety and Environmental policies and practices
  • Ensure the requirements of the Quality Management System, IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 are conformed to
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Skilled Tradesperson (Province of Ontario), Millwright, Machinist, Electrician certification is preferred
  • Candidates with Technologist or Engineering post-secondary education and experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with metal forming, pressing, and machining / automaton equipment required
  • Must have excellent time management and organization skill


Technical amp; Skill Requirements:

  • Proven leadership, team building, motivational and problem solving skills
  • Must be computer literate in a variety of applications
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) required
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
