Job Description
Our goal is to make every customer touchpoint consistently outstanding. Whether through web or native apps, our UI Designer will need to delight users with designs that inspire, engage and excite. They are imaginative and use strong User-Centered Research, Testing and Design principles to produce high-quality experiences from conception through to execution.
We’re looking for a senior UI/UX designer that can instinctively weave iconography, typography, colour, space and texture together to simplify and beautify how our users navigate our many products and services. It’s a task that’ll be made easier by collaborating with a top-notch team of product owners, strategists, marketers, writers and developers following a shared vision.
Requirements
What will you do?
- Prototype high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts and further transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.
- Collaborate with design and development teams to define and implement innovative and engaging solutions for the user interfaces and user experiences
- Understand the pain points being solved for the end users and convert those into appealing, highly usable interfaces tools.
- Promote design guidelines and best practices across the team
- Gauge the technical feasibility of the prototype
- Present highly defined designs/mock-ups to for review/iteration/approval.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, interaction prototypes and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
- Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
- Deliver a compelling, easy-to-adopt user experience that makes emerging product feel like one cohesive product.
- Together with the UX Interaction Designer Lead help establish UI Style Guide.
- Drive a consistent look and feel for emerging product that is on par with professional tools.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-haves:
- A demonstrable portfolio of work (professional or personal) which showcases examples of design process from low-fidelity sketches through detailed designs.
- Have first-hand experience designing user interfaces for mobile platforms like Android or iOS and web applications.
- A demonstrable history of applying design thinking tenants and user-centred design principles to challenges.
- Ability to work within a brand and style toolkit with a desire to push existing standards to the next level.
- Have a background in Fintech or other financial related products.
- Strong understanding of Design Principles (Grids, Hierarchy, Layout, Color,etc.), with keen eye for typography, and meticulous attention to detail.
- An extremely clean, functional design aesthetic.
- Interaction design skills and knowledge of when to utilize different application structures and design elements.
- Proficiency in creating UI design, storyboards, user flows, process flows, interaction prototypes and site maps.
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Must be proficient in Figma.
- Proficiency in Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Principle, Invision or other visual design, wireframing and prototyping tools
- Required : Completed Bachelor’s program in Graphic/Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science or related disciplines.
- Preferred: 2-4 years of professional experience. Formal education/certifications in User Experience Design.
