Junior Electrical Drafter, Distribution

Reporting to the Distribution Engineering Manager, the role of the Junior Electrical Drafter is to create or modify drawings as per their supervisor’s or engineer’s instructions. The Drafter is responsible for ensuring that timely, accurate and high-quality drawings are produced for construction and as Recorded project stages.

Responsibilities

• Apply diversified knowledge of design principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields
• Have a good understanding, knowledge and application of design criteria, codes, standard practices and design theory
• Maintain Drafting Processes and Procedures to follow and apply commonly used drafting concepts, practices, procedures, and policies within the resource industry
• Produce elementary layouts
• Assist more experienced draftspersons on complex projects
• Follow all quality guidelines as set out in the company and client’s quality assurance manual
• Ensure work is performed and completed in a safe manner within defined schedule and deadlines
• Assist drafting lead in general administration duties, including filing drawings and documents.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (power system preferred)
• Effective Interpersonal Skills Strong written and verbal skills are a must to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of drafting experience
• Able to work effectively both independently under minimal supervision, and as a member of a team.
• Strong customer service focus supported by solid time management and prioritization skills
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work and complete work within given timelines.
• Ability to adapt to ongoing changes.
• Excellent Personal Computing Skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Valid Driver’s License.
