Job Description

Arnett amp; Burgess (Aamp;B) is seeking a Shop Foreman for our Shop in the Blackfalds Office, Alberta. This role will be responsible for

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for General Repair/Maintenance on Heavy equipment and Automotive fleet in the Blackfalds Facility.
  • Direct supervision of Automotive Technicians/Heavy-Duty Technicians/Apprentices/Wash Attendants in the Blackfalds shop.
  • Maintenance of the NSC Fleet in the Blackfalds Facility (Trucks/Trailers)
  • Advise in ordering shop supplies for the warehouse.
  • Maintain shop work area in a safe/orderly state.
  • Ensure all assets leaving the shop is maintained/cleaned/fueled/washed before leaving the shop.
  • Monitor and ensure high levels of shop productivity daily.
  • Work with Equipment Management on suggestions/improvements to the Repairs and Maintenance policy at Aamp;B
  • Coordinate/Schedule Repairs with Equipment Manager and Shop Supervisor within the Blackfalds Facility
  • Diagnose and organize the execution of repairs to be completed
  • Manage and Control Shop Expenses (Tooling, Repairs)
  • Order parts required to complete repairs
  • Ensure that all repairs have been completed to acceptable standards while advising the Equipment Manager of any misuse/neglect of incoming field equipment
  • Review and approve shop work orders, time and submit to administration
  • Ensure all safety procedures and policies related to the shop are being completed daily (Toolbox meetings, crane inspections, FLHA’s, etc.)

Requirements

  • Preference given to applicants with previous Shop and Yard experience
  • Experience in loading/unloading various types of Heavy Equipment is beneficial
  • Experience operating Skid Steer, Loader, and Overhead Crane an asset
  • Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to consistently and clearly present information to co-workers and management
  • A proactive and creative problem solver
  • A team player with attention to detail, organization and a strong work ethic
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driver's abstract, with own transportation
