We are currently looking for a motivated, passionate, and dynamic candidate to serve in a Senior System Administrator (AD) role to enable the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology. This position will report to the Data Center Manager and will be based either in Montreal (QC) or in Oakville (On).

Job Summary

The Senior System Administrator has the overall responsibility to serve as Level 3 operations support for all North America and global initiatives. The incumbent will act as a technical subject matter expert for Windows Servers, Domain Controllers, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS and DHCP, Office 365 and Azure, other responsibilities will include technology market scanning, the definition of requirements, the design and assessment of the Infrastructure solutions and the documentation.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Coordinating environments hosting AD, ADFS, DHCP, DNS, Azure AD and office 365.
  • Ensuring integrity, stability and security of the Active Directory in enterprise wide environment.
  • Responsible for administrating, handling and supporting MS. Exchange online, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Responsible for the Identity and Access Management environment including Azure Active Directory, company Active Directory, O365 environment and company websites hosting.
  • Support integrating applications with Azure AD and enabling SSO.
  • Mentor existing staff on standard processes and technologies to drive IT solution adoption.
  • Lead problem solving efforts possibly involving outside support.
  • Perform installation, configuration and maintenance of software including operating system, patches and 3rd party products.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Server configuration and performance.
  • Act as an Escalation point for the L1 and provide support for L3 technical issues.
  • Provision and maintain physical and virtual servers, including Blade Server technologies.
  • Methodically solve issues using a variety of monitoring tools.
  • Document processes and systems.
  • Work with a wide range of applications including:

• File / Print servers

• FTP Server / File transfer support

• Antivirus

• Backups

• Cloud based Applications

  • Support with application servers to assist application team and supplier in the application troubleshooting.
  • Understand Network topologies and concepts.
  • Fix and resolve server issues in a LAN/WAN environment.
  • Provide mentorship in infrastructure methodologies and techniques.
  • Develop, maintain and improve infrastructure.
  • Assist in the DR (Disaster Recovery) planning, implementation and execution.
  • Conduct infrastructure technology and opportunity watches.
  • Assess the opportunities and potential risks dedicated to the proposed solutions recommended by the application architects, business analysts and production engineering architects.

Requirements

Qualifications amp; Experience

  • Bachelor / College degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 10 years of total experience in IT.
  • 7 years as a senior System Administrator.
  • 5 Years working with multiple Windows Operating Systems (from 2003 to 2019).
  • Demonstrated ability with the AD, Domain Controller, GPOs, DNS, DHCP.
  • Experience in Scripting PowerShell.
  • Good knowledge working in virtualization environment Hyber-V, VMware.
  • Excellent Knowledge of SSO and MFA Solutions.
  • 5 years Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Experience.
  • Demonstrated ability supporting remote locations and working with a remote support utility.
  • Demonstrated ability troubleshooting hardware such as servers, load balancer...
  • 2+ Years of Working with Cloud Infrastructure like AWS.

Skills Required:

  • Must be able to craft, prepare and conduct new technology evaluations to resolve infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and make recommendations for improvement of infrastructure, technology, operational capability, reliability and performance.
