The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Information Technology team.
Reporting to Director, Development amp; QA Information Technology, Senior Software Engineer is responsible for growing our products and building new applications. You'll be working on web centric enterprise applications in a fast paced environment that requires strong technical/business judgment and great communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to building innovative solutions along with a keen interest in financial news and personal investing.

What your day looks like:
- Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
- Design amp; develop REST APIs and webservices using Java, Spring Boot and other emerging technologies
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies and other meetings
- Involvement in software construction decision making, technical research, requirements gathering and implementation
- Create and maintain technical documentation
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- A degree or diploma in either computer science or engineering from a recognized institution
- 5 10 years of web centric enterprise Java development experience
- Prior business, personal experience or keen interest in the capital markets or the financial services sector would be an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Java EE (Web Services, JPA, Servlets, JSP, Enterprise Beans, JDBC, etc.)
- Web Application Technologies (Angular, Spring MVC, Bootstrap, Jakarta Struts, DHTML, JQuery)
- Knowledge of Microservices architecture and Container technologies (Docker)
- Mobile apps development (iOS / Android) is an asset
- SQL Databases (Oracle amp; SQL Server); Experience with data modeling is an asset
- Application Servers (Oracle WebLogic, JBoss or similar); Mule ESB is an asset
- IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse or NetBeans IDE
- Knowledge of DevOps tools (preferably Git, Maven, Jenkins)
- Windows, Linux
- Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
