We are currently recruiting for a Heavy Equipment Technician . This is a full-time employee position at our shop in Blackfalds, AB. If you are an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician with Junttan and/or Hydraulics experience, we want you to join our team!
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Check equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications and Centurion's policies
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Provide accurate estimates (labor hours, parts costs) for completion of repairs
- Repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
- Follow Centurion's Safety rules and safe work practices
- Interpret work orders and technical manual
Requirements
- Heavy-duty Equipment Mechanic trade certification is required. Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) required for journeyperson certifications obtained outside of the province of Alberta
- Experience on Junttan pile drivers an asset
- Experience completing CVIP inspections an asset
- Minimum 5 years' experience
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Class 1 or 3 license an asset
- Advanced electrical diagnostic skills
- Thorough knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- General knowledge of pile driving equipment, heavy trucks, trailers, excavators, other heavy equipment, and light fleet
- Must be safety and team orientated
Abilities Required
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Ability to think logically and keep up to date with changes in technology
- Travel to off-site locations will be required at times
- Willing to do field work, overtime and weekend work
- Willing to work both indoors and outdoors
- May be exposed to construction sites
Qualifications
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Must be fit-for-duty
- Good communication skills in English
- Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada
