Job Description

Florence is one of the UK’s fastest-growing healthcare technology companies, founded by an NHS doctor with an ambition to transform care with people-first technology. The Florence app empowers nurses to find flexible, fair and transparent work options, and enables healthcare facilities to reliably address staffing shortages.

With over 85,000 healthcare professionals and 2,000 facilities using Florence in the UK, and a recent series B fundraise of $35m USD, we’ve set our sights on entering the Canadian market. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the Florence Canada founding team, working closely with the Canadian Managing Director in support of a high-growth start-up mandate.

We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Manager, who will have end-to-end responsibility for the overall success of our local marketing portfolio, including marketing planning, customer research, content production, and more. You’ll partner with the central marketing team, based in London, UK, which operates as an in-house agency collaborating on paid social, search, CRM, analytics, website management, and more.

You’ll be responsible for bringing Florence’s brand to life in the Canadian market, and helping us build Canada’s largest network of nurses, personal support workers and healthcare professionals.

You’re a well-rounded, hands-on marketer ready to hit the ground running. You enjoy thinking creatively, embracing ambiguity, balancing multiple priorities, and working collaboratively with a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and own the Canadian marketing strategy and budget. In collaboration with the Canadian Managing Director and UK-based Chief Marketing Officer, you’ll build out a strategic roadmap for the local team to organize, execute and track against for the first 3, 6, 12 months. Backed by resources from the central marketing team, you’ll have the opportunity to leverage tried and tested tactics, and craft novel strategies for Canada.
  • Manage the marketing calendar. Ensure high-quality execution of deliverables and campaigns at all stages from acquisition to retention, churn, policies and everything in between.
  • Lead our performance marketing. Work closely with our performance marketing team to optimize campaigns; produce keyword and SEO reports that create actionable tasks (for paid search, website, and content).
  • Produce content and communications. Write compelling copy for our local website, user engagement, and social. Create print and digital assets in alignment with our brand guidelines. Brief and oversee freelance projects, such as video and photography.
  • Other duties/projects as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a marketing role, with B2B and B2C experience
  • Strong knowledge of pay-per-click marketing
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Evidence of tested project management skills, through past work experience or certifications (e.g., PMP)
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, with strong financial understanding
  • Analytics experience considered an asset (Looker, Google Analytics)
  • Experience with Hubspot CRM considered an asset

Benefits

  • Paid Vacation: 3 weeks
  • Equity compensation: Available, to be discussed
  • Benefits: Competitive benefit package; professional growth and development opportunities, includes a continuing education reimbursement and cross-training opportunities
